Carb kit, cracked float and a lot of guesswork

Hi! New around here and trying to help my cousin breathe life back into his 2003 Vulcan 800. I posted in General about a rebuild that may or may not have gone sideways. Float's iffy, gasket's flimsy and now I'm eyeballing new carbs priced like used cars.
