Fuel leak on Vulcan 900 need advice

Hey, I just picked up a used Vulcan 900 that had been sitting. After riding it for a bit, I saw gas leaking, and the oil level is way too high. I haven't messed with the carb yet, so I'm wondering if it could be a problem with the float or needle. Has anyone else had this happen?

It's likely that the float is stuck.
The needle isn't seating correctly, which lets gas continuously flow into the carb bowl and eventually leak into your engine's crankcase.
That's why your oil level is too high and reeks of gas.
Definitely drain that oil immediately before you ride it again!
Gas thins out the oil and can lead to major damage to your bearings.
After that, pull the carb, clean out the float and needle, and you should be good to go.
A good cleaning is often all it takes to fix it!
