Need some help about my carb

So the first problem is that I have a cracked carb housing, meaning I'll need to replace it. I have a 1998 Vulcan 800 so I'm guessing I won't find an OEM part, meaning I'll need to go aftermarket. What options are available, preferably ones that won't cost me a bag of money. My second question is how did this even happen? I haven't overtightened anything, haven't hit it and I haven't fallen with the bike.

Afraid you just have to have some luck finding one online. As for the crack, it could be from age, heat, or a manufacturing flaw that got worse over time. Plastic and metal fatigue happens all the time, even without impact or overtightening

Why not check for used OEM carbs on forums or eBay before going aftermarket, it might save cash and fit better?
